How to create a new layer from part of another layer

To be able to create a new layer from part of another you have to do the following:

 1- First of all you have to select an existing layer, and make a selection..

 2- Once you do that you choose one of the following options;
  • Layer> New > Layer by cut, to cut the selection and paste it into a new layer.



  • Layer > New > Layer by copy, to copy the selection into a new layer.
